Nath Ji of the Day

He was very good at studies. He passed secondary examination in
first division. Those days only a few were first divisionary. Dressed in usual
dress with crystal black Gandhi cap, he took admission at S P College. From the
very first day he was named by others as Nath Ji. He preferred to go to college
bareheaded, but his identity as Nath Ji continued. He pleaded that he was not
Nath Ji. “Bagwan suenz drie bue chues ne Nath Ji. Bue chus na voduenonie” (I
swear by Bagwan that I am not Nath Ji, especially when I am bare headed). To
chid him more, they started calling him ‘Natha duet’
Another Nath Ji from
Chotta Bazar an employee of Irrigation Department was asked for his photograph
by his would be in-laws. To cut short the procedure, he encircled his figure on
the V primary class school photograph and drew an arrow to “Yeh mai huen” (It
is me).
One Nath Ji bruised
in a street quarrel was saved by his grandmother Dedh. His mother taunted him
